Classically KIDS

RMCMA Collaborates with Colorado Music Festival to create educational outreach workshop series

This summer, we're pleased to parnter with the Colorado Music Festival in a new educational workshop series called Classically Kids. With curriculum designed by the RMCMA, this-workshop series targets school-agd children, and features different musical topics aligned with a specific piece of repertoire or CMF guest artist. Each workshop:

          • is two hours in length;
          • is scheduled for the day before a particular concert; and
          • will be led by area expert musicians and teachers.

Cost for each workshop is $30, and this includes a child's conceert ticket, a voucher for 50% off a second ticket, and a $120 discount for enrolling in three.

Workshop highlights include:

          • Orchestra Safari, led by Dr. Mary Jungerman of the RMCMA faculty;
          • Being Michael Christie, an introduction to conducting taught by Brian St. John of the Longmont and Timberline Symphony Orchestras;
          • Aboriginal Sounds, in which students build their own digeridoos; and
          • Images in Music, where students create visual art to music.

For more information, registration, brochures, etc., call the RMCMA Office at (303)-665-0599.
